2021-08-10 SAC singed minutesSenior Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes of the August 10, 2021 CITY OF © SOUTHLAKE SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES: AUGUST 10, 2021 LOCATION: THE MARQ SOUTHLAKE Legends Hall — Executive Board Room 285 Shady Oaks Drive Southlake, Texas 76092 Members Present: Chair MaryLee Alford, and Vice Chair Greta Schumacher, Secretary Patty Howell, and SAC members, Bernadette MacDermott, Esther Spickler, Julie Walter, Victoria Clyde (Alt #1) and Jayne Winfrey (Alt #2) Commission Members Absent: SAC member Kathryn Orler Staff Members Present: Hospitality and Sales Manager of Legends Hall at The Marq Southlake, Ashley Newhart and Senior Services Coordinator, Soheila Mashat-Phelps 1. CALL TO ORDER Chair MaryLee Alford called the meeting of the Senior Advisory Commission to order at 1:02 p.m. 2. PUBLIC FORUM There being no one present to address the Commission, Public Forum was closed. 3. DISCUSSION 3A. SENIOR SERVICES UPDATE Senior Services Coordinator Soheila Mashat-Phelps presented the Q3 Dashboard and Cumulative Report to the Commission on senior programming and provided updates and responded to questions. 3B. METROPORT MEALS ON WHEELS REPORT Metroport Meals On Wheels (MMOW) Executive Director Mary King presented the MMOW report and reviewed participation and financial statistics for the meals programs. Ms. King provided a handout with information regarding the suggested weekly meal donation increase for FY2022 to the Commission to review. A copy of the previous quarter and cumulative MMOW reports were included in the meeting packet. 3C. COMMUNITY SERVICES UPDATE Hospitality and Sales Manager Ashley Newhart presented a Community Services update to include the successful celebration of the Annual National Park and Recreation Month Senior Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes of the August 10, 2021 with this year's theme as 'Our Park and Recreation Story'. The update included the National Recognition at the Virtual Leo Laks Annual National Council on Aging Conference for the Senior Activity programming excellence and innovative design in the middle of a global pandemic for their September 2020 Senior Center Parade that collaborated with multiple City departments and an update on the upcoming Fall Recreation programming. 4. CONSENT CONSENT AGENDA Consent Agenda items are considered routine by the Commission and are enacted with one motion. 4A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE JUNE 8, 2021 REGULAR SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING. Chair MaryLee Alford presented the Consent Agenda, including approval of the minutes of the June 8, 2021 meeting. Chair Alford asked if there were any revisions to the minutes. No revisions were discussed. APPROVED A motion was made to accept the minutes of June 8, 2021 meeting as read.
