MEMBERS ABSENT: Daniel Kubiak. STAFF PRESENT: Sr. Director of Planning and Development Services Ken Baker; Deputy Director of Planning & Development Services Dennis Killough; and Commission Secretary Lydia Ruiz. WORK SESSION: 1. CALL TO ORDER: 2. Executive Session: Pursuant to the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, Sections 551.071. Refer to posted list attached hereto and incorporate herein. Executive Session may be held, under these exceptions, at the end of the Regular Session or at any time during the meeting that a need arises for the Planning and Zoning Commission to seek advice from the City Attorney as to the posted subject matter of this Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. Section 551.071: Consultation with attorney. No executive Session was held. 3. Recap of City Council’s actions. 4. Staff presented an overview of item #5 on tonight’s meeting agenda; no questions were asked. 5. Adjournment. REGULAR SESSION: 1. Section 551.071: Consultation with attorney. No executive session was held. 5. CONSIDER: SV21-0021, SIGN VARIANCE FOR MODY SOUTHLAKE LOCATED AT 2101 E. SOUTHLAKE BLVD., SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS. Sign Board item 5 and Planning and Zoning item 9 were discussed in conjunction. Deputy Director, Dennis Killough did not present item 5 as it was formally presented during Work Session; questions were asked on item 5. Applicant – Gary DeVleer on behalf of the Property Owner, 3849 Van Ness Lane, Dallas, Texas came forward to speak and answer questions on item 5. A motion was made to approve item 5, subject to the following: 1) approval of the cove lighting acknowledging as the presenter acknowledged that it will not be visible; 2) denying a second monument sign; and 3) limiting the upper story signage to one sign not two as requested; and further amend the motion to acknowledge the statement that the cove lighting will be white, and the second monument sign that is denied will be the one on Village Center Drive. Motion: Rothmeier Second: Phalen Ayes: Reynolds, Rothmeier, Forman, Springer, Phalen, Dyche Nays: None Abstain: None Approved: 6-0-0 4. CONSIDER: APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE OCTOBER 7, 2021 SIGN BOARD MEETING. A motion was made to approve item 4, the minutes from the October 7, 2021 Sign Board meeting.
