PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Frances Scharli, Vice Chair Paul Venesky; Board Members Kevin Craddock, Magdalena Battles, and Stacy Driscoll PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Secretary Jeffrey Ng and Board Member Chad Bedwell STAFF PRESENT: Director of Community Services Chris Tribble, Policy & Strategic Initiative Principal Planner Jerod Potts, Assistant to the Director of Community Services Milenka Lopez, and Contract Administrator Junior Camacho REGULAR AGENDA 1. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Frances Scharli called the regular Parks and Recreation Board meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 2. CONSENT AGENDA 2A. APPROVE MINUTES FROM THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 08, 2021 The minutes of the February 08, 2021 Park Board meeting were approved with no changes or corrections. APPROVED A motion was made to approve the minutes of the regular Park Board meeting held February 08, 2021. REPORTS 3A. SOUTHLAKE YOUTH ATHLETIC ASSOCIATIONS The Park Board received dashboard reports in their meeting packet for Dragon Youth Baseball, Dragon Youth Football, Grapevine Southlake Soccer Association, Lady Dragon Lacrosse, Miracle League of Southlake, Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association, and Southlake Girls Softball Association. Representatives from Southlake's youth athletic associations were present to respond to questions and comments from Park Board members concerning their organization's Dashboard report. Kevin Brook, Dragon Youth Baseball representative, 503 Stonewall Ct, Southlake. Mike Noel, Dragon Youth Football representative, 602 Vicksburg Ct, Southlake. David Cerami, Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association representative, 111 Sam Bass Ridge Road, Southlake. Greg Grimes, Lady Dragon Lacrosse representative, Trophy Club. Tom Cormandi, Miracle League of Southlake representative, 1915 Big Bend Drive, Grapevine. Will Darby, Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association representative, 615 Logans Lane, Southlake. Brett Orr, Southlake Girls Softball Association representative, 415 West Chapel Downs Drive, Southlake. The next athletic association Dashboard reports will be presented at the Spring 2022 meeting. 4. PUBLIC FORUM Chairman Frances Scharli opened public forum at 6:22 p.m. There being no one to speak, Chairman Scharli closed public forum at 6:22 p.m. 5. PARKS & RECREATION UPDATE Director Chris Tribble presented the parks and recreation update, providing information about the Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve activities as well as the Champions Club programming for the month of March. Mr. Tribble responded to questions from the Board. WORK SESSION AGENDA SOUTHLAKE PARKS, RECREATION & OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN Policy & Strategic Initiative Principal Planner Jerod Potts presented the 2035 Parks Master Plan for the work session agenda and was available to answer questions. The items for discussion included pickleball, use of the former senior center site, and additional park amenities.
