CALL TO ORDER Southlake Arts Council Chair Tamara McMillan called the meeting to order at 6:01p.m. 2. PUBLIC FORUM Chair Tamara McMillan opened the Public Forum at 6:01 p.m. There being no one present to address the Arts Council, the Public Forum was closed at 6:02 p.m. 3. CONSIDER AGENDA 3A. RECOMMENDATION ON THE BOB JONES ART TRIBUTE Community Relations Manager Vicky Schiber presented the final review of the Bob Jones Art Tribute and answered questions. A motion was made to approve the Bob Jones Art Tribute as presented. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE FEBRUARY 23, 2021 SOUTH LAKE ARTS COUNCIL MEETING APPROVED A motion was made to approve the minutes of the February 23, 2021 Southlake Arts Council meeting with no corrections. CONSIDER 4A. RECOMMENDATION ON THE PARK VILLAGE ART Community Relations Manager Vicky Schiber presented the contract with artist Hunter Brown, DBA Innovative Sculpture Design LLC, in an amount not to exceed $110,00 for public art to be installed at Park Village for the Arts Council's consideration. Arts Council recommended the City Council approval of the contract with artist Hunter Brown to produce the sculpture "Take Off' to be in installed at Park Village as presented. APPROVED A motion was made to recommend to the City Council for approval of the contract with artist Hunter Brown, DBA Innovative Sculpture Design LLC, in an amount not to exceed $110,00 for public art to be installed at Park Village. RECOMMENDATION ON THE SISTER CITIES TOWN HALL EXHIBIT PROPOSAL Community Relations Manager Vicky Schiber presented the Sister Cities application to display student art in Town Hall to the Council and responded to questions. Arts Council recommended to approve the Sister Cities application to display student art in Town Hall to the Council as presented. /_1»CZOI9:Ia] A motion was made to approve the application to hang student art from the Sister Cities International art contest in the Town Hall Lobby for three weeks starting at the end of April and running through mid-May. DISCUSSION 5A. BOB JONES ART UPDATE Community Relations Manager Vicky Schiber presented the Bob Jones Art update to the Council and was available to answer questions. The artwork is currently at the foundry and artist Seth Vandable is working to secure a stone table to accompany the art. It will be a tight turn around with the May deadline. Direction to Staff: None. 5B. SIGNAGE FOR PRAIRIE WINDS AND BOB JONES MEMORIAL Arts Council Chair Tamara McMillan presented the signage for Prairie Winds and Bob Jones Memorial for discussion. The Arts Council would like pursue signage options to place near newly completed art that is available for people to view safely, this would exclude the roundabout art. The signage would tell the story of the art and list the artist name. Direction to Staff: Inquire about the cost for the signage and if the Arts Council budget can support the purchases. Arts Council members will begin drafting signage standards for art pieces. 4C. IN-PERSON MEETINGS Chair Tamara McMillan presented the open discussion of in person meetings for the Arts Council. Community Relations Manager Vicky Schiber was available to respond to questions. Direction to Staff: Move forward with scheduling in-person meetings. 4D. ARIA- ARTS COUNCIL SOUND SYSTEM- LEGENDS HALL Chair Tamara McMillan presented item 4D for discussion. The Arts Council expressed concern about the current sound system available at Legends Hall and would like to evaluate what upgrades are possible. The Council is wanting to explore options of acquiring more equipment to limit the amount of additional equipment brought in by patrons. Direction to Staff: Staff will provide more information about the current equipment in place at the Aria to the Arts Council. 5.
