Item 8CCITY OF
SOUTH LAKE
MEMORANDUM
June 8, 2021
To: Shana Yelverton, City Manager
Item 8C
From: Amy Shelley, City Secretary
Subject: Resolution No. 21-028, appointing an ex-officio member to the Southlake
2035 Corridor Planning Committee.
Action
Requested: Appoint an ex-officio member to the Southlake 2035 Corridor
Planning Committee.
Background
Information: Several of the Southlake Boards and Commissions include City
Council appointees/representation. All board/commission member
terms are two years, unless the member is appointed to fulfill a
vacancy. During their tenure, Council members are appointed and
served on various boards/committees. Invariably board/commission
terms do not correspond with the elected official's term in office. As
a result, outgoing Council members create vacancies within
boards/commissions.
On May 18, 2021, Council appointed members to fill vacancies left
by previous elected officials with the approval of Resolution No. 21-
013. The following Council members were appointed; however, the
ex-officio place remained vacant.
