Meagan Brandon (gb Amy Shelley From: meagan brandon Sent: Tuesday,June 1, 2021 5:09 PM To: Amy Shelley Subject: Mayor and City Council To whom it may concern, In reference to item 6B (ZA 21-0039) on tonight's agenda, I would like to state my opposition. I am opposed to these warehouses being built because it is unclear what exactly will be housed in them, there is a proposed emergency access on our street, Woodsey Ct., and they are also requesting a variance for the amount of trees they would like to chop down. As homeowners, we are required to preserve a certain percentage of trees if we want to build on or add anything to our property, and we are held to that requirement. Mr. Bengert and Brookfield properties are wanting to cut down over half of what they are allowed to with the excuse being that they will plant new ones. Why was this not an option given to homeowners who have a constant financial stake in Southlake? My uncle, Peter Sporrer, was actually one of the people in this city who started the movement to conserve our trees many years ago. In regards to an emergency access being allowed, the idea is crazy. No other neighborhood in Southlake would allow this to happen. I've never seen anything like this anywhere in fact. The members of P&Z also told Mr. Bengert to contact all residents with samples/ideas of what the possible fence would look like, which he has failed to do. I was emailed but others were not given the information at all. How can we agree to something if he didn't do what was asked and we have no idea what is being proposed? Plus a 10 foot fence would loom over many of these houses and be an eyesore. We were told years ago there would never be access on our street and now it's being considered. What is to stop them from requesting another variance to turn that into employee access one day? We have lived here since 1985. I do understand things change over time but the idea of allowing this is preposterous. Thank you, Meagan Brandon 1214 & 1216 Woodsey ct Sent from my iPhone 1
