Mayor John Huffman led the pledges of allegiance to the United States and Texas Flags. 3. SOUTHLAKE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE UPDATES BY JUSTIN LEWIS Executive Chamber Board member Justin Lewis provided a Southlake Chamber of Commerce update. 4. PRESENTATION OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARDS Director of Human Resources Stacey Black presented the volunteer service awards to volunteers who met established volunteer service requirements. The Mayor and Council took a group photo with the team on the front steps of Town Hall. 6. DISCUSS ALL ITEMS ON TONIGHT'S AGENDA. Southlake Blvd., subject to Staff Report dated May 11, 2021, and noting the following: - The applicant is requesting an attached building sign with larger than permitted individual internally illuminated channel letters. Backer plate is denied as requested. - The approved Nordstrom Rack sign variance (SV09-006) for this lease space permitted a 24-inch "Nordstrom" letters, 54-inch "r", "a", and "c" letters, and a 93-inch letter "k". The proposed sign will have internally lit white faced channel letters with 18- inch "Nordstrom" letters, 70-inch "r", "a", and "c" letters and a 96-inch ("k") with a 11'- 2 1/8" inch by 22'- 4 1/8" grey backer plate (250 sf). The City's Sign Ordinance no longer permits backer plates and the MSP for Shops of Southlake does not specifically allow them. - Applicant is given flexibility with color, and to work with staff relative to reverse channel lite.
