Subject: Ratify expenditures with TexOp Construction, L.P. for milling
services on N. Carroll Avenue from SH 114 to Burney Lane in
an amount of $92,925.
Action
Requested: Ratify expenditures with TexOp Construction, L.P. for milling
services on N. Carroll Avenue from SH 114 to Burney Lane in an
amount of $92,925.
Background
Information: On December 1, 2020, City Council approved an Interlocal
Agreement (ILA) with Tarrant County for the joint roadway
rehabilitation project of N. Carroll Avenue from SH 114 to Burney
Lane for a total of 9,350 linear ft. As part of this partnership, the
City is responsible to mill the roadway prior to Tarrant County in
completing paving operations.
The scope of service from TexOp will remove between two to four
inches of asphalt, hauling of asphalt waste, and sweeping. The
rehabilitation of N. Carroll Avenue is anticipated to begin May 27,
2021. Previous milling projects TexOp has completed for the City
include: Dove Road, E. and W. Continental Boulevard, and
Crooked Lane, all have been a part of previous joint rehabilitation
projects with Tarrant County.
Financial
Considerations: The City's purchasing policy is met through an ILA with the City of
Fort Worth for asphalt milling services. On February 25, 2021, the
City of Fort Worth renewed its contract 17-0183 for the period of
May 2021 through May 2022; this renewal is the third of four one-
year renewal options (Attachment A).
Funding for the asphalt milling of N. Carroll Avenue from SH 114 to
Burney Lane is available as part of the approved Capital
Improvement Program. Expenditures did not exceed available
funds.
