I watched your video on the upcoming proposal for Town Square residences several times. It occurred to me that you were not clear as to whether the proposed units are condos or apartments. I am strongly opposed to apartments. Town Square is an upscale development, and in my opinion, residential ownership helps ensure the properties will keep their prominence for years to come. Even with high rents, I'm concerned that apartments will have a higher churn of residents, and periods of vacancy that contribute to the eventual decline of the properties. I don't need to reiterate the objections that have been raised. Apartments are not the right choice for Southlake. Southlake residents have been very clear about this for a very long time and resent having to continually fight this battle with our representatives. Given the fact that only 25%of the Parkview condos have been sold, I don't support the development of two new condo buildings either. I believe the developer has built units that are too expensive ($700+ per sq ft), and the remainder will not sell for many months or years. I personally would like to see the development of additional brownstones, which are very attractive and can overlook additional park space and contribute to a small town feel. With more square footage and private elevators, these are a great alternative for empty nesters looking to downsize from large Southlake homes. The condos are too small and lack privacy in my opinion. Currently, there are no brownstones available for purchase in Town Square, which is unfortunate. Thank you for listening. Carol Kelly 416 Marshall Road Southlake 1
