2010-0583T RESOLUTION NO. 10-058 OFFICIAL R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, GRANTING A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT FOR A MASS GATHERING EVENT FOR SOUTHLAKE GREEN DAY EVENT ON MARCH 26, 2011 ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1400 FOUNTAIN PLACE AND 1400 E SOUTHLAKE BOULEVARD BEING LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS BLOCKS 7 AND 8, AND ADJACENT RIGHT-OF- WAY, SOUTHLAKE TOWN SQUARE, PHASE I, MORE FULLY AND COMPLETELY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A", AND AS DEPICTED ON THE APPROVED SITE PLAN ATTACHED HERETO AND INCORPORATED HEREIN AS EXHIBIT "B" AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, a Specific Use Permit for a mass gathering event for Southlake Green Day Event has been requested by a person or corporation having a proprietary interest in the properties zoned as "DT" Downtown District; and, WHEREAS, in accordance with the requirements of Sections 45.1 (36) & 45.14 of the City's Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance, the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council have given the requisite notices by publication and otherwise, and have afforded the persons interested and situated in the affected area and in the vicinity thereof; and, WHEREAS, the City Council does hereby find and determine that the granting of such Specific Use Permit is in the best interest of the public health, safety, morals and general welfare of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS: SECTION 1. A Specific Use Permit is hereby granted for a mass gathering event for Southlake Green Day Event on March 26, 2011 on property located at 1400 Fountain Place and 1400 E Southlake Boulevard being legally described as Blocks 7 And 8, and adjacent right-of-way, Southlake Town Square, Phase I, an addition to the City of Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas, according to the plat recorded in Cabinet `A', Slide 4892, Plat Record, Tarrant County, Texas, more fully and completely described in Exhibit "A", and as depicted on the approved Site Plan attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "B" and providing an effective date, subject to the provisions contained in the comprehensive zoning ordinance and the restrictions set forth herein. The following specific t requirements and special conditions shall be applicable to the granting of this Specific Use Permit: 1) All signs advertising the event be kept out of the public Right -Of -Way; 2) And, the specific use permit be granted for a period of three (3) years so long as the scope does not change. SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective on the date of approval by the City Council. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 16th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2010. Southlake Green Day is the premier green event to learn about the many ways to invest in a sustainable future, and improve daily living by going green. Southlake Green Day is free and scheduled for: Southlake Town Square Rustin Park March 26, 2011 10:00 AM -6:00 PM Set up- 8:00 AM Southlake Green Day will feature vendors, manufacturers and other businesses presenting products and information about going green. Also planned are guest speakers and interactive "how to" presentations about how the Southlake community and surrounding areas can go the extra mile to take care of the environment Residents can expect to see the latest energy-efficient solutions for the home an business, what and how to recycle, how to compost and grow organic gardens, and much more. There will be entertainment, fabulous raffle items, and drawings for free bicycles for students from Kindergarten through the 6"' grade. Last year, it was especially great to see the kids come out. We want to teach children that they can make a difference and make smart choices for their future. I believe we will see an even larger crowd in 2011 as this event continues to gain popularity," says Audra Lewandowski, event founder. The goal of Southlake Green Day is to raise awareness and educate people on the many opportunities available to do something good for our environment.
