2009-067 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 09-067 OFFICIAL RECORD A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE VARIOUS SOUTHLAKE 2030 PLAN ELEMENT COMMITTEES WHEREAS, a Home Rule Charter of the City of Southlake, Texas, was approved by the voters in a duly called Charter election on April 4, 1987; and, WHEREAS, the Home Rule Charter, Chapter X1 requires an update to the City's comprehensive plan (Southlake 2030 Plan) every four years, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the Southlake 2030 Plan will consist of the following elements: 1) Vision, Goals & Objectives Committee; 2) Area Plans & Land Use Plan; 3) Economic Plan; 4) Mobility Plan; 5) Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan; 6) Community Plan; 7) Water, Sewer and Stormwater Plan; 8) Sustainability Plan Committee; and 9) Youth Plan Committee, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the various Southlake 2030 elements will be developed by committees appointed by City Council, WHEREAS, the these committees will develop plan elements that will be presented to City Council after a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission for consideration, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. Southlake 2030 Plan Element Committees are hereby established. Section 2. All of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct and the City Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety. Section 3. The City Council hereby appoints the following members to the various Southlake 2030 Plan Committees: 1) Economic Development & Tourism Plan Mike Hutchinson, Southlake Business Council Tim Moorhead, Southlake Business Council 2) Mobility Plan Reed Ballew, Carroll Independent School District 3) Community Plan Margaret Adams, Parks and Recreation Board Craig Rotmeier, Carroll Independent School District it 4) Youth Plan Committee Suzanne Maisto, Students and Parents Against Risks to Our Kids SPARK) Shannon Shankman, Southlake Youth Action Commission (SMAC) Elaine Cox, Parks and Recreation Board 5) All Southlake 2030 Plan Committees "Ex -Officio" John Terrell, Mayor Section 4. This resolution shall become effective after its passage and approval by the City Council. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 20th DAY OF OCTOBER, 2009.
