2009-031OFFICIAL RECORD RESOLUTION NO. 09-031 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO SERVE ON THE LIBRARY BOARD AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on October 20, 1998, the City Council for the City of Southlake, Texas, approved Ordinance No. 716, establishing a Library Board to act as an advisory board to the City Council relating to all nature of library facility planning and programming; and, WHEREAS, the Board shall consist of seven (7) citizens of the City of Southlake, and who shall be appointed by the City Council for two (2) year terms. Members shall serve without compensation until their successors are appointed. Places on the Board shall be numbered one (1) through seven (7); and, WHEREAS, the City Council may appoint ex -officio members to the Board. Such ex -officio members shall be appointed on an annual basis and the term of office of such ex -officio members shall be one (1) year from the date of appointment. Such ex -officio members shall have no voting authority. Vacancies on the Board are to be filled by appointment by the City Council for the length of the unexpired term; and, WHEREAS, the terms for June Koelker (Place 5), C.D. Peebles (Place 6), Kimberly Roberts (Place 7), and a vacant position (Place 4) expired in May 2009; now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The above premises are hereby found to be true and correct and are hereby incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. The City Council hereby appoints the following persons to the Library Board: June Koelker Place 4 term ends May 2011) Kimberly Roberts Place 5 term ends May 2011) Emily Galoin Place 6 term ends May 2011) Vicki Kiaht Place 7 term ends May 2011) Section 3. This resolution is hereby effective upon passage by the City Council. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 16th DAY OF JUNE, 2009.
