2009-013 ResolutionOFFICIAL RECORD RESOLUTION NO. 09-013 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISSION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council deemed it advisable and necessary to establish a Senior Advisory Commission for the City of Southlake to act as an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to senior programs and issues including development of long-range capital improvement programs, recommend policies in senior service and improvements, and recommend senior -related programs for development of recreational facilities and services; and, WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 653 establishes the Senior Advisory Commission and states that the Senior Advisory Commission shall consist of seven (7) citizens of the City of Southlake, who must be at least 55 years of age; and allows two members to be less than age 55 if their experience or education is deemed valuable to the Senior Advisory Commission; and allows for two alternate members; and,. and, WHEREAS, the City Council shall appoint the members for two (2) year terms; WHEREAS, there is one vacancy, Place 2, which will expire in'May 2010; now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The above premises are hereby found to be true and correct and are hereby incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. The City Council hereby appoints the following member to serve on the Senior Advisory Commission: Patricia Burnett Place 2 (term ends May 2010) Section 3. This resolution is hereby effective upon passage by the City Council. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE - DAY OF APRIL, 2009.
