RESOLUTION NO. 08-059
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS, CANVASSING THE LOCAL OPTION ELECTION HELD ON
NOVEMBER 4, 2008; DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
PROPOSITION FOR THE LEGAL SALE OF BEER AND WINE FOR OFF -
PREMISE CONSUMPTION ONLY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, there was a Local Option Election held in the City of Southlake, Texas,
on November 4, 2008, for the purpose of considering the following proposition:
The legal sale of beer and wine for off -premise consumption only."
WHEREAS, there were a total of 13,767 ballots cast for both Tarrant and Denton
Counties as shown on the official election results heretofore lawfully submitted to the City
Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, and filed with the City Secretary of said City; and,
WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of said City voted in said election,
and said election was called and held in strict conformity with the laws of the State of
Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the results of said election were duly canvassed by the City Council of
the City of Southlake, Texas, on November 13, 2008 and showed the following results:
Tarrant County -13.477 ballots cast
Denton County - 290 ballots cast

Of the total 13,767 ballots cast for both Tarrant County and Denton County, 8,290
60.21 %) were "For" the proposition and 2,648 (19.23%) were "Against" the proposition.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The above canvass is effective after its passage and approval by the City
Council and the proposition is hereby deemed passed.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 13th DAY OF NOVEMBER 2008.
