A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE
BUILDING BOARD OF APPEALS; PROVIDING FOR THE
TERMS; PROVIDING FOR QUALIFICATIONS OF
MEMBERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ORDINANCE NO.
622; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Southlake, Texas, is a home rule city acting under its
charter adopted by the electorate pursuant to Article XI, Section 5, of the Texas
Constitution and Chapter 9 of the Local Government Code; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 622, adopted by the City Council of Southlake,
Texas, on September 6, 1994, outlines the appointments to the Building Board of
Appeals; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 622 states the board shall be composed of five (5)
members to be appointed by the City Council to serve two-year terms. In addition, the
City Council shall appoint two alternate members who shall serve in the absence of one
or more regular members. Members are appointed to places numbered 1 through 5 and
alternate members shall be appointed to places numbered 6 and 7. Even numbered
places expire in even numbered years and odd numbered places expire in odd
numbered years; and,
WHEREAS, the terms for David Carpenter (Place 2), William Jenkins (Place 4),
and Pat Trampe (Place 6, Alternate 1) expired in May 2008; Vacant (Place 3) and
Vacant (Place 7, Alternate 2) will expire in May 2009; now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1.All of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct and the
City Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body of this resolution
as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2.The City Council hereby appoints the following persons to the Building Board
of Appeals:
David Lvnn Carpenter Place 2 (term ends May 2010)
Pat Tramr)e Place 3 (term ends May 2009)
Kenneth Horne Place 4 (term ends May 2010)
William Quinn Place 6, Alternate 1 (term ends May 2010)

Section 3. This resolution is effective upon passage by the City Council.
