RESOLUTION NO. 08-017
OFFICIAL RECORU
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS, CANVASSING THE GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTIONS HELD
ON MAY 10, 2008; DECLARING THE RESULTS OF GENERAL AND
SPECIAL ELECTIONS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, there was a General and Special Election held in the City of Southlake,
Texas, on May 10, 2008, for the purpose of electing a City Councilmember, Place 1;
Councilmember, Place 6; and deciding for or against the adoption of the fire fighters' and
police officers' civil service law; and,
WHEREAS, there were 2,623 ballots cast as shown on the official election results
heretofore lawfully submitted to the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, and filed
with the City Secretary of said City; and,
WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of said City voted in said election, and
said election was called and held in strict conformity with the laws of the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the results of said election were duly canvassed by the City Council of the
City of Southlake, Texas, on Mav 20. 2008 and showed the following results:
