A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO SERVE
ON THE JOINT DRUG AND ALCOHOL AWARENESS
COMMITTEE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the citizens of Southlake are confronted with the societal issue of drug and
alcohol abuse among the youth of our community and desire to undertake a mutual effort to
address this situation; and,
WHEREAS, members are appointed from the following entities: one member from the
City Council, appointed by the City Council; one member from the community -at -large,
appointed by the City Council; one member from the Carroll ISD Board of Trustees, appointed
by the Carroll ISD Board of Trustees; one member from the community -at -large, appointed by
the Carroll ISD Board of Trustees; one member of the Mayor's Advisory Committee, appointed
by the Committee and allowing for the Committee to appoint an alternate; and one member from
the Southlake Chamber of Commerce, appointed by the Chamber; and,
WHEREAS, the terms for Gregory Jones, Place 1 — City Council Representative and
Susan Ansly, Place 3 — City Council community -at -large appointee expired in May 2005; and,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. All of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct and the City
Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body of this resolution as if copied
in their entirety.
Section 2. The City Council hereby appoints the following persons to the Joint Drug and
Alcohol Awareness Committee:
Greg Jones City Council representative (term ends May 2007)
No appointee Community -at -large representative (term ends May 2007)
Section 3. This resolution is effective upon passage by the City Council.
