RESOLUTION NO. 02-051
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING PERSONS TO
SERVE AS THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR THE
SOUTHLAKE CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION
DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 363.051 (The "Act")
authorizes a municipality that is partially or wholly located in a county with a population of
more than one million to create a crime control district within its jurisdiction; and,
WHEREAS, on November 4, 1997, Southlake voters approved a proposition to
create the Southlake Crime Control and Prevention District, dedicated to formulating crime
reduction programs and the administration of the one-half cent sales and use tax collected
for the support of crime reduction programs authorized by the city; and,
WHEREAS, Section 363.101(a)(b) of the Local Government Code states that the
District is governed by a board of seven (7) directors who serve staggered two-year terms
that expire September 1; now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. All of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct and the
City Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body of this
resolution as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. The positions occupied by Bob Mundlin, Stuart Spencer, and Craig
Sturtevant expire September 1, 2002, and the following persons are hereby
appointed to serve as Director for the Southlake Crime Control and
Prevention District for a two-year term to expire September 1, 2004:
1. Bob Mundlin
2. Stuart Spencer
3. Craig Sturtevant
Section 3. This resolution is effective upon passage by the City Council.
