RESOLUTION 99-68
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING PERSONS TO SERVE ON THE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR THE SOUTHLAKE CRIME CONTROL
AND PREVENTION DISTRICT AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 363.051 (The "Act") authorizes a
municipality that is partially or wholly located in a county with a population of more than one
million to create a crime control district within its jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, a special election was held on November 4, 1997 to determine whether the
voters of the City of Southlake favored the creation of the Southlake Crime Control and
Prevention District dedicated to crime reduction programs and the adoption of a proposed local
sales and use tax at a rate of one-half of one percent; and
WHEREAS, Southlake voters approved the proposition to create the district; and
WHEREAS, Section 363. 101 (a)(b) of the Local Government Code states that the district
is governed by a board of seven directors who serve staggered two-year terms that expire
September 1;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the two-year term for four directors have expired and the following
person is hereby appointed to serve as Director for the Southlake Crime Control and Prevention
District for a two-year term to expire September 1, 2001:

SECTION 2. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon passage by City
Council.
