1998-039 Resolutionr„ L City of Southlake, Texas RESOLUTION NO. 98-39 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISSION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council deemed it advisable and necessary to establish a Senior Advisory Commission for the City of Southlake, to act as an advisory board to the City Council relating to senior programs and city issues; and, WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 653-A establishes the Senior Advisory Commission and states that the Senior Advisory Commission shall now consist of seven (7) citizens of the City of Southlake, who must be at least 55 years of age; and allows two members to be less than age 55 if their experience or education is deemed valuable to the Senior Advisory Commission; and allows for two alternate members; and, WHEREAS, vacancies shall be filled in the same manner provided for regular appointments; and, WHEREAS, the terms of Linda Moore and Dick Johnston have expired and Dick Johnston does not want reappointment; and Aloha Payne and Crawford Hall have resigned; and Alternate Zena Rucker has resigned and one Alternate position is currently vacant; and, WHEREAS, the Senior Advisory Commission shall act in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to senior programs and issues, including development of long-range capital improvement programs; recommend policies in senior service and improvements; recommend senior -related programs for development of recreational facilities and services; now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. All of the premises are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. The City Council desires to appoint the following members to serve on the Senior Advisory Commission:: Linda Moore two year term 5/2000 Jeane Alexander two year term 5/2000 William Cosgrove two year term 5/2000 Mataly_ n Smith two year term 5/2000 Betsv Horowitz one year term 5/99 Tom Ward one year term 5/99 Section 3.
