1998-005City of Southlake, Texas RESOLUTION NO. 98 - 5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, DESIGNATING A REPRESENTATIVE TO THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION COUNCIL (RTC); PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) designated by the Governor of Texas for the Dallas -Fort Worth region; and WHEREAS, the MPO transportation policy body is known as the RTC and is comprised primarily of local elected officials who serve as a forum for cooperative decisions among the local governments on transportation improvements; and WHEREAS, the RTC has proposed modifications to their Bylaws related to the membership structure to include the City of Southlake in the cluster group consisting of the Cities of Bedford, Euless, Hurst, Colleyville, Grapevine, Southlake, and Trophy Club; and WHEREAS, an individual selected to represent a respective cluster group is chosen by the mayors/county judges using a weighted vote of the maximum of the daytime or nighttime population of the cities/counties represented; now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, THAT: Section 1. All of the above premises are true and correct and are hereby incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in its entirety. Section 2. The City Council agrees to the appropriateness of the proposed membership restructuring. Section 3. The City Council requests that Henry Wilson continue to serve as the representative for the proposed cluster group as he has indicated his desire to do so. Section 4.
