1994-034h - City of Southlake, Texas .._ RESOLUTION NO. 94-34 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE TEEN COURT ADVISORY COMMri-iitit FOR A ONE (1) YEAR TERM; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Teen Court is a volunteer program which allows juvenile misdemeanor offenders an alternative to the criminal justice system; and, WHEREAS, Teen Court allows juvenile offenders the opportunity to assume responsibility for their own actions by involvement in the judicial process and community service; and, WHEREAS, Teen Court brings juvenile offenders to a jury of their peers and to the community for constructive punishment which will provide the youths with an understanding of their judicial system and a realization of their rolls in their community; and, WHEREAS, Teen Court Advisory Board is comprised of nine (9) members: one (1) City Council member; two (2) citizens appointed by the City Council; and one (1) member of the Carroll Independent School District staff (CISD); and one (1) member of the CISD Board of Trustees, to be appointed by the Superintendent of Schools of the Carroll Independent School District, on an annual basis. Upon application to the board, four (4) students of Carroll High School are selected by the board; now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. All the above premises are found to be true and correct and are hereby incorporated into the body of the resolution as if copied in its entirety. Section 2. The members appointed by the City Council include one (1) City Council member and two (2) citizens at large. 1. Councilmember Andy Wambsganss 2. Cathy Turner 3 Ralph Hopkins Section 3.
