RESOLUTION NO.91-36
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING A TEEN COURT AND
THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Teen Court is a volunteer program which allows
juvenile misdemeanor offenders an alternative to the criminal
justice system; and,
WHEREAS, Teen Court allows juvenile offenders the opportunity
to assume responsibility for their own actions by involvement in
the judicial process and community service; and,
WHEREAS, Teen Court brings juvenile offenders to a jury of
their peers and to the community for constructive punishment
which will provide the youths with an understanding of the
judicial system and a realization of their rolls in their
community; and,
WHEREAS, Teen Court Advisory Board will be comprised of five
5) members, two (2) each appointed by City Council and the
C.I.S.D. Board of Trustees, and one (1) appointed by the Judge;
now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. All the above premises are found to be true and
correct and are hereby incorporated into the body of the
resolution, as if copied in its entirety.
Section 2. The frequency of the meetings are to be determined by
the Board and there are no specific qualification requirements
for the Board member, other than a commitment to the concept of
the Teen Court.
Section 3. The members appointed by the City Council are:

Section 4. This Resolution is hereby effective upon passage by
the City Council.
