1981-015RESOLUTION 81-1S WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake, deems it to be in the best interest of its citizens and as an in- valuable courtesy to newcomers, to provide all newcomers with formal general information about the City of Southlake and the surround- ing area; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake desires to coordinate the informa- tion service under a Welcome Committee and the City Council through a liaison officer or officers; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake desires to permit the receipt of input and advice from its citizens, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY' OF SOUTHLAKE TEXAS, THAT: 1. A Welcome Committee is created for the purpose and with the role, indicated in the attached charter marked "Exhibit A". 2. All members of the Welcome Committee be appointed for a term of one (1) year from July 6,1981 (the first City Council meeting following the 3rd officially scheduled meeting of the Welcome Committee) and a current roster of appointees be kept in the office of the City Secretary with the members having met the following qualifications: a. All members must attend a minimum of three (3) officially scheduled meetings before being eligible for City Council appointment, and, b. All appointed members must reside within the City limits of Southlake. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 9 day of ,1981. i AAYOR ATTE T: CITY SECRETARY RESOLUTION, 81-1S CONTINUED WHEREAS, it is essential for the proper lope -ration -of., City of Southlake, that Councilpersons be appointed as liaison officers to the Welcome Committee; AND, WHEREAS, such appointments will be made by the Mayor by authority of Paragraph 7.1 of the Personnel Rules and Regulations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: COUNCILPERSONS Place 4, Modine Stricker, and Place S, Shari Massey be appointed as liaison officers to the Welcome Committee of the City of Southlake, created by Resolution 81-1S, on May 19,1981, for a term of one year from the date of the 21st day of April, 1981. ct 1981. e_retary
