ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING: October 15, 2020

Members Present: Board members: Vice Chair David Treichler, Michael Quinones- Place 1, Trey
Verbick, Place 3, Austin Reynolds Place 4, and Clinton Snead- Alternate 3
Members Absent: Chair Jeff Medici, Hannah Smith- Alternate 1, Robert Kemins- Alternate 2,
and Heather King- Alternate 4.
Staff Present: Dennis Killough, Deputy Director of Planning & Development Services, Richard
Schell, Principal Planner, Katie Blizzard, Board Secretary, Miranda Picklesimer and Andrea
Parrott.
REGULAR SESSION:
1. Call to Order: Acting Chair Treichler called the Regular Session to order at 6:30 P.M.
2. Executive Session: No executive session was held.
3. Approval of the Minutes: Acting Chair Treichler opened the discussion of the minutes of the
Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting held on September 10, 2020.
A motion was made to approve the minutes of the Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting held on
September 10, 2020.

Ayes: Treichler, Quinones, Verbick, Reynolds, and Snead
Nays: None
Abstain: None
Vote: 5-0-0
Motion: Approved
4. Administrative Comments: Planner Schell announced that the next meeting is scheduled for
October 29, 2020 and that there is one submittal for that meeting.
Agenda Item No. 5 ZBA20-0011- Variance to Ordinance No. 480, Section 11.5(b), requiring a
front yard of not less than forty (40) feet on property described as Lot 4A, being a portion of Lot
4, Block 5, South Lake Park Addition No. 2, an addition to the City of Southlake, Tarrant County,
Texas and located at 3108 Southlake Park Rd., Southlake, Texas. Current Zoning: "SF -1A" —
Single Family Residential District.
Planner Schell presented details of the case with a slide show presentation to the Board. The
applicant, Jeff Kolberg, is requesting approval of a Variance to Zoning Ordinance No. 480, as

amended, Section 11.5(b) requiring a front yard of not less than forty (40) feet to allow a one
story addition to the principal residence to be located approximately 35' from the front property
line along Southlake Park Rd.
Acting Chair Treichler opened the public hearing and called upon the applicant or the applicant's
representative to make such comments and present evidence as the applicant should desire.
Jeff Kolberg, 3108 Southlake Park Rd, Southlake, Texas, the applicant and owner, once sworn
in, presented testimony, and answered questions from the Board.
Acting Chair Treichler asked if there were those in the audience who wished to speak in support
of the request.
There being none, Acting Chair Treichler asked if there were those in the audience who wished
to speak in opposition to the request.
There being none, Acting Chair Treichler called upon the applicant or the applicant's
representative for a brief rebuttal.
The applicant did not have a rebuttal.
Acting Chair Treichler closed the public hearing and opened the item for discussion from the
Board.
A motion was made to approve case ZBA20-0011 as presented.

Ayes: Treichler, Quinones, Verbick, Reynolds, and Snead
Nays: None
Abstain: None
Vote: 5-0-0
Motion: Approved
6. Meeting Adjournment: Acting Chair Treichler adjourned the meeting at 6:55 P.M.
