a. Discuss and provide comments on the City of Southlake FY 2021
Communication Plan. Jessica provided an overview of the City's FY 2021
Communication Plan. The Committee asked what platform the City used for
communication, which staff responded was Constant Contact. The Committee
asked if they would be receiving a copy of the plan, and Jessica said yes. The
Committee asked about using specific logos for different City posts to share,
and Jessica mentioned they can be shared as is. The Committee asked about
how often things are shared, and Jessica noted that it depends on the event.
The City spaces out posts and gives several hours in-between posts. The City
will prioritize certain items. Jessica noted the Office of Marketing and
Communication uses analytics to know when to post. Perhaps the Committee
considers a sharing schedule to make sure people see the posts. The
Committee asked if the City uses Linkedln as a social media platform. The
City does have a profile, perhaps this can be used more in the future. A lot of
local businesses have been using the platform and receive many views for
their posts.
b. Introduce new Community Engagement Committee members. The CEC
members provided brief personal introductions.
c. Community Engagement Committee strategic overview. Lauren walked
through the CEC enabling ordinance and strategy map with the CEC
members. Lauren and Jerod discussed the SPIN program. Staff will send a
link to the SPIN informational video.
