FORUM SUMMARY:
Property Situation: The property is located on the east side of N. Carroll Ave. and between E.
Southlake Blvd. and SH 114 in Southlake Town Square on 7.3 acres.
Details:
The applicant in partner with the City of Southlake to modernize the current sign ordinance that govern
the Southlake Town Square District. The current Town Square sign ordinance was approved in 1999.
The applicant highlighted the need to consolidate the 4 separate master sign plans for Southlake Town
Square into one master sign plan for the entire development. Innovations in technologies make these
updates necessary to meet the demands of an evolving retail environment.
The components of the proposed master sign include:
• Preserve the existing precedent with approved sign design
• Expand the color palettes for store fronts
• Allow flexibility for the location of the sign on the façade, currently the sign needs to be
centered on the façade.
• Allow adding additional sign types
• Allow additional signs for tenants on the corner of a building
• Awning signs allowed by right
• Mural signs allowed by right.
• Correct the ordinance to allow premise signs on the rear of the building without having the
tenant have a lease space
• Clarify signage definition to include additional options.
• Include roof signage for entire development
• Allow additional environmental signage (types of signs)
