Robinson EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Signarama NFW, on behalf of Medici Development Partners, is requesting approval of a variance to Sign Ordinance No. 704, as amended, to allow an upper story attached building sign to be located on a wall that is not entirely congruent with the tenant’s lease space, and allow a larger than permitted letter and logo height. The tenant, C.H. Robinson, is located at 2106 E. SH 114, Suite 405, Southlake, Texas. REQUEST DETAILS: C.H. Robinson is located in the Kimball Park office building on the northwest corner of E. State Highway 114 and N. Kimball Avenue. The Kimball Park office building is a four-story office building located approximately 970 feet north of E. State Highway 114. and approximately 230 feet from N. Kimball Avenue. C. H. Robinson occupies the northeast area of the fourth floor of the building. The proposed sign will be located above the fourth floor on the east elevation facing N. Kimball Avenue. The sign will be centered on the east façade wall and approximately half the length of the sign will be located on an adjacent tenant’s lease space. There are currently three (3) signs on the building; two (2) first floor signs, Liberty Mutual on the south elevation and Independence Title on the north elevation and one (1) upper story sign, Keller Williams on the south elevation (approved under SV17-010). In Sign Ordinance No. 704-J, upper story signs are prohibited unless approved by City Council as part of a Master Sign Plan or variance. The proposed attached building sign qualifies as an upper story sign and is congruent to the tenant’s lease space. The applicant is requesting a variance to allow the proposed upper story sign to be located on the east elevation of the building above their fourth-floor lease space. The proposed sign letters and logo exceed the allowable letter and logo height. The proposed sign meets all other sign ordinance criteria regarding area, letter type and illumination. Logo: Front and reverse lit with white acrylic with blue oracle 504 translucent vinyl and blue trim cap and logo return.
