4. REPORT
A. LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
City Librarian discussed the Library statistical performance for the month of November
2019. Traffic numbers are not accurate because the security gates were out of working
order from September through December 12, 2019. An estimated traffic count is
provided based on historical data. Print circulation is up 7% for the month and all digital
circulation is up 17% for the month. The Cloud Library circulation was up 14% for the
month. Computer usage was up 6% and study room use is increasing with a 78%
growth for the month. Programming is down and we expect it to be down for the year
because there was a $10,000 grant supporting programming in 2019, which will not be
available in 2020. Volunteer hours are down for the month, as are proctored exams and
notary requests. Interlibrary Loan requests are continuing to rise with a 37% increase
for the month.
5. LIBRARY OVERVIEW & UPCOMING EVENTS
City Librarian Pfledderer discussed staffing at the Library and two vacancies which will
be filled within the next month, a Clerk position and the Administrative Secretary
position. The Library will be offering several holiday events and activities, including an
Ugly Sweater Painting Class, Mrs. Claus Story Time, a magic show, Noon Year's Eve
and Mad Science. The Board discussed programming ideas for 2020, including support
for the Census and activities for children. The Board discussed moving the meeting time
