FORUM SUMMARY:
Property Situation: The Hills Church Southlake existing building on 9.63 acres at 2501 W
Southlake Blvd.
Details: The applicant is proposing to remodel and a site renovation to include waiver request
to allow an entrance along Brock Drive. Renovation of the approximately 29,000 SF on both
levels of the existing building and building expansion of approximately 16,760 SF on two levels.
The existing 450 seats in the worship area will be increased to 600 seats. The parking lot area
will be increased from 206 parking spaces to 261 parking spaces. The proposed site work would
also include eliminating two of the four existing drives along Southlake Blvd. allowing for other
improvements along Southlake Blvd. (in cooperation and conjunction City of Southlake) such as
the City achieving the 1709 Sidewalk Project to have a continuous sidewalk system along both
sides of F.M. 1709. Fencing and landscaping is proposed along Brock Drive.
• The church held a meeting with the neighbors on Brock Drive to present the plan and
received feedback.
• Brock Drive will be used on Sunday for 9 am and 10:45 am services only. Additionally, a
Mother’s Day Out is proposed for Tuesdays and Thursday 9 am – 2 pm with access to
Brock Drive. The church does not have a private school during the week.
• Signage and security will be provided on Sunday for traffic.
• A drainage study will be needed for the new expansion.
• A Traffic Impact Analysis for the proposed driveway changes is nearly complete.
Presentation:
Questions and Concerns:
1. Concerns with the location of the proposed driveway on Brock Drive and a preference to
move it further north to lessen the impact of the traffic on the street.
2. Concerns with the impact of the traffic and noise on the neighborhood.
