Presentation:
Questions and Concerns:
• Could you tell us about the pervious pavers versus the current product there now
in regards to water absorption, etc.
o Present product is grass pave product, which is plastic rings with some
gravel inset and some grass planted on top of that. The grass never really
took over which has caused some issues for the district. Propose a
pervious paver that allows the water to filter down through the paver into
gravel and then we’ll have a French drain below it. So it slows the water
down, allows it to percolate down, and what doesn’t infiltrate into the
ground will be picked up in a perforated pipe and carried to one of the
storm drain pipes on the system. So it slows the water down and a lot of
that water will percolate into the soil.
• You will be installing a new French drain? Not currently one under the grasscrete
there now?
o No there is not. We will be installing a new one.
• Replacing some sidewalk west of the pervious pavers?
o Yes. Existing culverts were full of sediment and we’re going to replace
those culverts under the sidewalks with a larger pipe to allow that water to
come through easier, and also repair some of the erosion that’s happened
because of those pipes getting full.
• Noticed a lot of the drainage and silt that has drained into there comes from the
area by the school. Located that? Aware of where that silt is generating from?
o That is part of this project. Looking at those erosion areas.
• Concerned with the drainage, our hope is we solve that drainage issue.
