4. REPORT
A. LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
City Librarian Pfledderer discussed the January Library statistics. Print circulation was
up in January and digital circulation was down. Total circulation and physical traffic were
both up. Youth Librarian Wells weeded out some juvenile books to make room for a new
level up books collection.
5. DISCUSSION
A. ANNUAL REPORT
City Librarian Pfledderer went over the Library's annual report. This report is submitted
to the Texas State Library as support for the Library's annual accreditation. The total
overall operating revenue from the Library was a little over $763,500 for 2018.
Circulation was up overall 5% for 2018, with a slight decrease in print material
circulation and a dramatic increase in digital circulation. The increase is related to the
Interlocal Agreement with 20 other libraries for Cloud Library and the growth in available
materials from 2,000 items to over 100,000 items. Programs were down related to
additional voting activity and the lack of available space for programming.
B. PROGRAM REVIEW
City Librarian Pfledderer discussed how the Library was using the $10,000 grant from
the Texas State Library to support hands-on learning workshops. Much of this grant is
used on upcoming youth programs this spring and summer. Librarian Pfledderer went
over a list of upcoming programs. Spring Break program registrations were full within
minutes of opening. Librarian Pfledderer went over how she and the Library staff make
scheduling decisions for programming to ensure that they are accessible to the
appropriate audiences.

Pfledderer said that she received an outline for a benefit gala from the director of the
Azle Public Library. The Board decided against a black tie, gala type event and would
instead like to do something like a lecture series to raise money.
The Board revisited the idea to start a multicultural community book club, City Librarian
Pfledderer said she has tried to gauge interest in this type of program but that there is
little interest among the community.
