Library. Gordon Korman, a popular children's author, is visiting in February to do an
adventure writing workshop. Also in February, there are several events for Lunar New

workshop, a lantern parade, live performances and reception. There will also be a
cooking class in February, called Cancer-Free Kitchen, to teach vegetarian cooking. In
March, there will be a nutrition program and several children's programs over Spring
Break. Programs include Chalk Art in the Square, live animal programs, a watercolor
painting class and a cupcake decorating competition. Also in March, the Library is doing
a promotional event called Southlake Reads, during which the Library staff will promote
three books by African American authors to support the Celebrate Southlake event.
B. TOWN HALL REMODELING AND DEPARTMENT SHIFTING

the weight library shelving. The Board asked how and to whom they should share their
thoughts about the new Library, if Carillon Parc fails to be an option. City Librarian
advised that decisions about the Library will be made by City Council on the

communities. The Board discussed the possibility of adding more satellite book drop off
locations. Vice Chair Green told the Board about a discussion he had with local
philanthropist Brad Bradley, regarding the idea of the Foundation. Mr. Bradley advised
