•Permit Flat Panel Signs in “Industrial Areas”
•Define “Industrial Areas” –Areas characterized
primarily by uses such as manufacturing, processing,
packaging, assembly, storage, warehousing, and
distribution of products.
•Provide design specifications for Flat in “Industrial Areas”
–Flat panel signs clearly visible from the right-of-way AND ≤ 100 feet from edge
of pavement shall have routed out or embossed text or non lit dimension letter
–Flat panel signs not clearly visible from the right-of-way can be either pan,
digitally printed, routed out or with non-illuminated letter as defined by
ordinance.
Staff Recommendations
•Non-Illuminated letter
–Letter shall have a total depth of 2” or more to include projection or offset from the attached building surface
•Example 1” deep letter with 1” standoff
–2” maximum projection or offset from attached building surface
–Letter and/or logo can be any color OR
–Letter required to be a neutral color / logo may be any color.
