Staff Present: Mike White, Building Operations Manager, Paul Ward, Chief Building Official,
Susan Hemandez, Deputy Building Official, Kelly Clements, Fire Marshall and Miranda

Agenda Item No. 1 -Call to Order: Chairman Carpenter called the meeting to order at 6:15
P.M.
Agenda Item No. 2—Approval of the Minutes: Chairman Carpenter opened the discussion of
the minutes of the Building Board of Appeals meeting held on June 27, 2018.
A motion was made to approve the minutes of the Building Board of Appeals meeting held on
June 27, 2018.

Nays: None

Agenda Item No. 3 - Overview Building Board of Appeals: Susan Hemandez presented a
slide presentation and presented an overview of the ordinances and the adoption of the 2018
Intemantional Fire, Plumbing, Building, Energy, Residential, Mechanical, Existing Building,
Property Maintenance, Fuel, Gas and Swimming Pool and Spa Codes as recommended by the
North Central Texas Council of Governments. Kelly Clements presented changes regarding the
2018 International Fire Code and answered questions from the board.

Agenda Item No. 5 - Questions and Recommendations: Staff answered questions from the
board and a motion was made to recommend and adopt the 2018 Ordinances and
