Action Requested: Approve Professional Services Agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for engineering services to construct a roundabout at Continental Blvd and Peytonvile Ave in an amount not to exceed $212,000. Background Information: Phase 1 of the Intersection Capacity Analysis included traffic data collection for 17 existing intersections and initial recommendations for improvements. Phase 2 included a similar scope of work but added an additional 12 intersections. From these two Phases, 5 intersections (Continental/Byron Nelson, Conti nental/PeytonviIle, Continental/Davis, White Chapel/Dove and Carroll/Southlake Boulevard) were identified as candidates for further engineering evaluation in Phase 3. This final phase of the process requires Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc to provide design and construction phase services for the project. Financial Considerations: Funding for this Phase of the Intersection Capacity Analysis is included in the FY18 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget. Strategic Link: The Intersection Analyses project and phases link to the City's strategy map relative to focus areas of Infrastructure, Mobility and Quality Development. The specific corporate objectives that are met by this mobility project are (C2) to provide travel convenience within the City & region and (F2) to invest to provide and maintain high quality public assets. The critical business outcome is to (CB02) enhance mobility through aggressive traffic management initiatives and capital project implementation. 4L Citizen Input/ Board Review: N/A Legal Review: This is a standard Engineering Services Agreement that has been previously reviewed by the City Attorney. Alternatives: The Council may approve the Engineering Services Agreement or deny it. Supporting Documents: Attachment A, Engineering Services Agreement Staff Recommendation: Approve Professional Services Agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for engineering services to construct a roundabout at Continental Blvd and Peytonvile Ave in an amount not to exceed $212,000.
