Requested: Authorize expenditures with Davidson Reconstruction, Inc. for
various projects in City facilities in FY 2019 in an amount not to
exceed $500,000.
Background
Information: The City of Southlake contracts with a construction firm to complete
facility projects as needed. These projects are necessary to
maintain City buildings and renovate work spaces. Typical projects
include painting and remodeling of public spaces, construction of
offices, repairs to the buildings and roofing systems, and striping of
public parking spaces.
In the FY 2019 adopted budget, City Council allocated funds to
complete the space reconfiguration and relocation of multiple
departments within Town Hall. This project includes remodeling
Suite 210 to convert the space from the Community Services
offices to the Human Resources Department. The project also
includes remodeling Suites 420 & 430 to convert the space from
the Library Administration offices to the new Finance & Technology
Services Department. These renovations are necessary to align
with the new organizational changes in order to best serve the City.
FY 2019 Council approved projects also include the remodeling of
the Town Hall 2nd and 3rd floor bathrooms in order to update the
restroom facilities and be in compliance with the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) per the City's Accessology Report dated
September 16, 2015. The painting of all public spaces within Town
Hall will also be completed in order to give the hallways a fresh coat
of paint.

Financial
Considerations: The City's purchasing policy for these construction services is met
through The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) government
purchasing contract #170201. TIPS is a purchasing cooperative of
the Texas Region 8 Education Service Center (ESC). All TIPS
contracts are awarded by the ESC 8 seven -member Board of
Directors, and each vendor has met strict Competitive Bidding
Process guidelines established by the ESC 8 administration and
the TIPS legal team.
The City obtained three proposals for the remodeling of Town Hall
Suites 210, 420 and 430 for the space reconfiguration project.
Below is the tabulation of the three bids for your review. Davidson
Reconstruction, Inc. was selected as the best value.
Below are the budgeted amounts for each FY 2019 Facility Project.

• Install new millwork per plan
• Demo doors per plan, provide new frames and re -use doors & hardware.
• Patch drywall as needed
• Prep and paint all walls and hard ceilings in space
• Prep and paint doors & frames
• Demo flooring and install vinyl plank flooring in copier room

• Adjust AC supply/return grills for new configuration.
• Tap plumbing in adjacent restroom for supply/drain at new sink in copier room

• Install existing can light over each cubical area
