Follow -Up Information: Attached questions and comments summary. Summary of Questions and Comments Introductions began at 7:05 p.m. You alluded to the "lightning rod" as a Southlake resident and representative to the Hunt Sports Group, what is the lightning rod and why are we here discussing this? Why is this a huge problem? You mentioned that there are advantages for the school district and the City, can you describe the benefits to the City with this change? How much are we talking about in terms of dollars that would go to the City of Southlake? Do you anticipate that the City of Southlake having to put in additional resources for security outside of the stadium should those costs be subtracted from the sales tax projections? Does the cost of the law enforcement that the Burn and the CISD are paying for include a citywide impact (i.e. drunk driving enforcement across the City) or just 100% of law enforcement around the stadium? Are there going to be additional law enforcement for these events on a City -wide basis or are the additional law enforcement efforts only going to be in the stadium area? Without knowing the cost estimates for revenue and to put an additional cost of putting a police officer on the street, it seems as if the extra direct and indirect costs would eliminate the revenue generated from these events. Has Hunt Sports done a similar arrangement in other cities? In professional opinion of DPS, will these events result in additional crime coming to the City of Southlake? There will be no allowances for game patrons bringing in alcohol into the stadium? Can you state that there will be no tailgating or drinking alcohol in their cars before or after the game? What do you do with all of that confiscated alcohol, do you throw it away? My assumption is that you have lost some money on the sponsorship side (i.e. alcohol sponsors) coming to the stadium, correct? Demographics how many people in Southlake have been to a Burn game in the last seven years, and how does your demographic study show projections for ticket sales coming to Southlake? How many home games will you have in the stadium? Are you affiliated with the owners of the Soccer Complex going in adjacent to the stadium? I watched a 1 '/z hour show over the weekend on professional soccer, I was shocked to watch the groups that attend the soccer games hooligans and people getting into fights in the stadium during games, is that what we are talking about here? Your marketing plan and average attendance is 12,000 14,000 if you get your plan approved with the additional seats, are you prepared to turn away up to 6,000 people that would want to come to a game? Especially if the team is doing well and that drives demand for tickets, where there is no guarantee that there would not be a huge turnout for games. Is there going to be a control as far as standing room only, if the Burn has the potential for the championship, are the Burn going to crowd people into the stadium on a standing room only basis? Let me say that this is a stop -gap measure for your club for the next few years, but for the homeowners around the stadium, there is no benefit what is the Burn willing to do address the negative impact associated with the crowds that will attend these events at the stadium? Are you going to put a fence up between my property (west side of the stadium parking lot) and the stadium property I was promised that by the School Board. The other worry that I have is that they are talking about putting a road on the north side of your property (access to Crooked Lane.) to address ingress egress issues. One of the concerns that we have as residents is that the School District would use some of the revenues generated by these events to enhance the stadium property to handle these crowds and events, tone down the lighting, etc. The plan for the revenues mentioned in the paper was that these revenues would go towards the payment of salaries and administrative costs. How much do you estimate that the Burn is going to pay the School District? Three years ago when you built this thing you didn't have the money to construct these improvements, and now you are bringing in a professional soccer team that could not have built a facility in the City of Southlake under a similar situation that you got approval to build this stadium. Now the soccer team is sneaking in here and the School District is not constructing any improvements to the property to mitigate the negative impact of these events how do you think that looks to the residents adjacent to the stadium? Does the Stadium lighting meet the City Code right now? If not, now you want to have more events held at this stadium? I have a problem with "temporary" anything, you are eventually going to have to enlarge the stadium capacity anyhow, I don't want to have to come to City Hall every three or four years to discuss piecemeal issues that raise you a few bucks. Can you sign a longer contract and pay for some improvements to the facility? If you do not get a unanimous vote, what are you going to do then? You guys have been cramming down our area things that you did not want in your backyards. What about the parking, what are you going to do what is going on? Temporary seating, you are putting this on the east side in front of the fieldhouse (actually the east side, in front of the field house? BB) of the field, and there is nothing to account for the crowd issues going into the surrounding residential areas can you consider putting the temporary seating areas on the north side of the field versus the south side of the field? Is there a reason for putting the seats on the south side versus the north side? Just as a point of information, after about the third football game, they quit letting the kids sitting on the berm during the regular season. Another participant mentioned that in the playoffs, the berm area was opened for seating. Is it a foregone conclusion that you are going to leave after the lease expires? Are you working in conjunction with the adjacent Soccer World Complex in any fashion? Will your events be at the same time as events at the Soccer World Complex this is a double whammy for the adjacent residents. Signature Brandon Bledsoe, SPIN 99e Representative
