Item 20 - SL2030 AppointmentsM E M O R A N D U M July 15, 2011 To: Planning & Zoning Commission From: Ken Baker, AICP, Director of Planning and Development Services Subject: Appointment of Southlake 2030 Plan Element Committee Members Action Requested: Consider appointing Planning & Zoning Commission members to the Southlake 2030 Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Plan Committee and the Southlake 2030 Mobility Plan (Master Thoroughfare Plan) Committee. Background Information: At present, all Planning & Zoning commissioners are members of the Land Use Plan Committee, the Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Plan Committee and the Mobility Plan Committee. With the anticipated completion of the Area Plans and Consolidated Land Use Plan this fall, development of both the Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Plan and the Mobility Plan is currently scheduled to begin in the fall. Since the Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Plan and the Mobility Plan will be developed concurrently, the Planning & Zoning Commission may wish to appoint individual commissioners to each plan committee. The scope of the Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Plan is to review and develop a plan document with consultant assistance. The composition of the Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Plan is currently as follows: Planning & Zoning Commission Members (All) City Council Members: Martin Schelling and Al Zito Ex-Officio: Mayor John Terrell The scope of the Mobility Plan is to review and update the Master Thoroughfare Plan, the Pathways Plan and the Sidewalk Plan. In addition, the Pathways Plan and Sidewalk Plan will be combined into one cohesive document. The composition of the Mobility Plan Committee is currently as follows: Planning & Zoning Commission Members (All) City Council Members: Pamela A. Muller and Jeff Wang Parks and Recreation Board Member: John Slocum Carroll Independent School District Representative: Reed Ballew Ex-Officio: Mayor John Terrell If the Planning & Zoning Commission chooses to appoint individual commissioners to these two committees, a resolution for the official appointments will be brought forward to the City Council for final action.
