I. Approval of minutes of 3-1-89.
II. Treasurers Report Approved. (Attached).
III. Announcements: Joint Chambers After Hours 4-11-89, 6-8 @ Northwest Bank
involving Keller, Roanoke, Southlake Chambers.
IV. GTE - summary of corporate relocation information provided at chamber
luncheon (Attached)
V. Prospect Update:
1) AL -KO - Barry
2) Inland Sales Co. - Phillip & Pat will contact
VI. Video production update: Barry E. reports that video may be produced
by utility company for approx $400.00.
VII. Economic profile Update: John Moore reports that current (1988) figures
will be available within next 30 days; or we may proceed with 1987 figures.
Vote to wait for most current figures. Estimates on cost to produce
$800 - $1300, possible completion date May/June.
VII. Brochure Update: Phyllis Catton (see attached brochure cost proposal)
III. Computer: Connected and available. See Alan Young for start up instruction.
IX. Tax Abatement Packages: copies received from Plano and Irving „ Curtis Hawk
suggests a written report to city Council on tax abatements recommended to
city along with Eco. Profile for review. SEDC to review packages from Plano
and Irving by April 19.
X. Other Business: presentation by Brad B. to continue involvement in
Metroport-to complete fiscal year to coincide with city budget. Motion
made and approved.
GTE - CORPORATE RELOCATION

r THE RELOCATION CENTER
(1) Biggest concern of families to be relocated: 58% concerned about schools
and quality of life.
(2) Cost to re -locate vs new hire cost an average of $37,500 to re -locate an
employee vs $23,000 average cost for new hire.
(3) GTE relocation will involve 3000 plus employees from 1988-1992.
GTE itself will provide approximately 4,000 new jobs when n►ove is collpleted,
and create approximately 7,600 new jobs in companies providing service Cu
GTE families.
GTE average payroll from move is estimated to be $200 million annually.
Total input to local economy estimated to be over $2 billion annually.
