1996-04-10JOINT USE PLANNING SUBCOMMITTEE for the Municipal Complex Site Wednesday, April 10, 1996, 7:00 p.m. In the CISD Administration Board Room Minutes Attendance: Rich Driscoll, Chairman, Rick Wilhelm, Ted Gillum, Bethann Scratchard, Kathy Andrews, Frank Dorer, Jim Murphy, Tammy Stripling, Phyllis Catton, Becci Rollins, Jane Cousins, Buddy Luce, Steve Johnson, and Sally Hall Council Liaisons: Michael Richarme Staff Liaisons: Kevin Hugman and Kim McAdams Agenda Item #1, Call to Order In the absence of the chairman and vice chairman, Rick Wilhelm called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Agenda Item #2, Approval of the March 25, 1996 meeting Minutes A motion was made and carried by the committee to approve the minutes as presented with one correction noted. Committee members introduced themselves to the group. Agenda Item #3, Brainstorming Session The committee's brainstorming session produced three (3) elements; Potential Joint Use Projects, a Priority List of the Potential Joint Use Projects, and a. Description of the Three Identified "Potential " Items. The following was recommended. Joint Use Subcommittee Meeting Minutes April 10, 1996 Page 3 Priority List of Potential Joint Use Projects Out of the list above, the Committee pin -pointed three (3) projects which were identified as "essential" items to be located on the municipal site. They were: ► City Hall Facility ► CISD Administrative Offices ► Joint Board/Meeting Room After identifying the "essential" projects, the Committee reviewed the List of Potential Projects again and decided on three (3) "priority" uses . 1 Fine Arts Center/Theater/Concert Hall 2 Conference Center/Convention Center 3 Technology/Telephone/Communication 1 Fine Arts Center - Combine with open air amphitheatre - Combine with trails, Heritage Center, pond - Performance Arts Center "End of the Runway" type Lake Cities Band - Use that is compatible with school 2 Conference Center/Convention Center - Banquet Facilities - Evening meetings for groups such as: KSB, Sister Cities - Also rental of rooms - include room(s) for senior citizens recreational activities and community education - multi -purpose movable walls 3 Technology/Telephone/Communications - Media room/audio visual center - Joint Media - Library - Data Center - Telecommuting Joint Use Subcommittee Meeting Minutes April 10, 1996 Page 4 - Computer Training Center - Language Labs Agenda Item #4.
