PARK AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING
Monday, December 14, 1992
Board members present: Chairwoman, Janet Murphy; Members:
Ann Barnes, Carol Lee Hamilton, and Vicki Johnson.
The Parks Board did not have a quorum at this meeting. The Board
did proceed with the meeting as there were no Consider items on
this agenda.
City staff present: Chris Terry, Asst. to the City Manager.
Meeting called to order at 7:12 p.m.
Agenda Items Discussed:
3. Administrative Comments:
a) Murphy discussed the recommendation she received from the
Southlake Historical Society to name the individual rooms
within the new Community Building with titles of local
historical significance. The Historical Society proposed
placing a placque near the room entrances explaining the
significance of the name. The Historical Society's
President, Jan Saunders will submit a written report
detailing their recommendation.
b) Murphy reported that the Christmas tree planting ceremony
was well attended. The City's portion of the expense for
the lighting and decorating supplies totaled $77.16. The
Women's Division of the Southlake Chamber of Commerce
will be reimbursed for this amount.
4. Discussion: Crossroads Square Developer's Agreement.
Terry reported that the developer's Park Dedication Fee
amounted to $3,785.10.
6. Discussion: Joint Work Session with City Council and
Carroll I.S.D. Board.
Murphy reported on Larry Goldstein's presentation at the joint
meeting. Murphy explained that a permanent Joint -Use
Committee is to be formed with representatives from the City
Council, School Board, Parks Board, and other entities to meet
and discuss possible joint -use arrangements. Mike Thompson
and Ann Barnes have volunteered to serve as representatives
from the Parks Board when the committee actually begins
meeting.
9. Discussion: Bicentennial Park.
V. Johnson inquired about needed fence repairs near Field #2.
Terry will investigate with Public Works Director, M. Barnes.

The next regularly scheduled Parks & Recreation Board meeting is
set for Monday, January 11, 1993 in the City Council Chambers at
City Hall.
