AGENDA ITEM 3. Administrative comments:
1)Sue McNutt announced her notice of resignation. She would like to stay involved with
Teen Court in the capacity of community board member. She felt like she had become too
burdened with other responsibilities to do the job justice. She still will recommend this job
as a two person duty. Sue will stay on until mid -June in order for a new Coordinator to be
hired. Sue will also be glad to train the new Coordinator.
2)In regard to the problems of coordinating schedules of the various students involved with
our teen lawyer training program, Annette Skupin suggested holding meetings at school
during lunch at least once each week. Those students asked responded in a favorable
manner to this suggestion. Annette suggested that the Coordinator could address the teens
once or twice a month. She also offered to teach the teen lawyers the lawyer basics, terms,
etc. once a month. The last week of the month could be reserved for guest speakers which
could consist of area lawyers, or lawyers from the Young Lawyers Assoc. Annette will ask
Linda Smiles about the feasibility of such a program and its scheduling.
3) In regard to the frustrations expressed by Teen Court Coordinator Sue McNutt about
getting the chamber room when needed for Teen Court Sessions, Annette suggested
holding Teen Court at school. She will ask Linda Smiles, principal of CHS, and Judge
Brad Bradley about this.
