Southlake graduate Jame Scott who presented their class project. Group photos with
elected officials were taken prior to this meeting.
3B. CHAMBER UPDATES BY IAN MACLEAN
Ian MacLean, Chairman of the Board of the Southlake Chamber of Commerce, provided
an update on the Chamber. Mark Guilbert thanked the Council for their continued
support.

Mayor Hill reviewed the items on tonight's consent agenda.

1. CALL TO ORDER
Regular Session was called to order by Mayor Hill at 5:49pm.
2A. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mayor Hill announced the City Council would go into Executive Session pursuant to the
Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, Section 551.071
consultation with city attorney; Section 551.072 deliberation regarding real property;
Section 551.074 deliberation regarding personnel matters; and Section 551.087
deliberation regarding economic development negotiations. City Council adjourned for
Executive Session at 6:03pm. Executive Session began at 6:55pm and concluded at
7:04pm.
2B. RECONVENE
Mayor Hill reconvened the meeting at 7:03pm.
As a result of Executive Session, a motion was made to amend the City Secretary's
contract, to extend it for a period of 18 months, to December 31, 2019, and include a
2% merit increase and a 2% cost of living increase, with an effective date of July 1,
2018.

City Manager Shana Yelverton introduced Director of Public Works Rob Cohen who
provided a brief update on the Water Quality Report (Consumer Confidence Report).

Zoning Change and Site Plan for Professional Office Development, subject to the Staff
Report dated May 29, 2018, and the Site Plan Review Summary No. 2, dated March 28,
2018, and noting:
- Subject to the 1St Reading motion, the applicant will be required to maintain the
health of the trees along SH 114 (shown as marginal on the tree preservation plan)
and the bufferyard, and if those trees shown as "marginal" on the tree preservation
plan do not survive the construction and post construction, the trees along SH 114
would need to be replaced per bufferyard requirements and working with staff in the

and answered questions from Council. Mayor Hill discussed an art feature that would
reflect the history of the property. Applicant Curtis Young addressed Council and
answered questions.

thanked Mr Young for working with the neighbors throughout the planning
process.

Motion was made to approve Item 61, Ordinance No. 480-744 (ZA18-0004), 2nd
Reading, Zoning Change and Site Plan for Southlake Commons, subject to the Staff
Report dated May 29, 2018, and the Site Plan Review Summary No.3, dated May 29,
2018, and granting the following variance:
- Driveway Ordinance No. 634, as amended, to allow the proposed stacking depths of
approximately 70' on the West Southlake Boulevard driveway, 74' on the north
South White Chapel Boulevard driveway, and 18' on the southernmost South White
Chapel Boulevard driveway. These driveways are currently constructed.
- Also noting, the applicant has agreed to install new fencing along the entire length of
the south boundary that is adjacent to the residential homeowners and the fence
posts will be viewed from the applicant's property, that being the north side of the
fence; and
- Accepting the applicant's revised elevations on Buildings 1-5, which match the
Buildings 6-10 elevations.
- Also noting, the applicant has agreed to provide the City access to create a public
art display, as indicated tonight.
- And noting that impervious coverage as a result of this public art display will not be
