A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KELLER, TEXAS, IN SUPPORT OF A NEW
EAST-WEST HIGHWAY IN NORTH TARRANT AND SOUTH DENTON COUNTIES; DIRECTING THAT A COpy
OF THIS RESOLUTION BE DELIVERED TO THE CITIES OF FORT WORTH, HASLET, ROANOKE, TROPHY
CLUB AND WESTLAKE, AND TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE UPON PASSAGE AND APPROVAL.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Keller finds and determines that a new freeway is needed,
feasible and in the best interest of the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Keller urges the Cities of Fort Worth, Haslet, Roanoke, Trophy
Club and Westlake to support a new freeway across Northern Tarrant County;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Keller requests that the Texas Department of Highways and Public
Transportation work with all six cities in evaluating and considering a new
freeway.
Sec. 1.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KELLER, TEXAS:

That all of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct
and the City Council does hereby incorporate said findings into the body
of this resolution as if copied in their entirety.
That by passage of this resolution, the City Council of Keller, Texas
expresses its support of a east-west freeway in North Tarrant County and
South Denton County.
Said north freeway would be located north of FM Road 1709 and would connect
State Hwy. 114 in Denton/Tarrant Counties going southwest in Tarrant County
to Interstate Hwy. 35.
That the City Manager is directed and authorized to send a copy of this
resolution to the appropriate official at the Texas Department of Highways
and Public Transportation and to the City Manager or Mayor of the Cities of
Fort Worth, Haslet, Roanoke, Trophy Club and Westlake.
That this resolution be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KELLER, TEXAS on this
day of November, 1986.
