Pearson 16-inch Waterline Improvements project to Four Star Excavating in an amount not to exceed $588,500. Action Requested: Award a construction contract for the N. Pearson 16 -inch W aterline Improvements project to Four Star Excavating in an amount not to exceed $588,500. Background: The N. Pearson 16-inch Waterline Improvements project consists of connecting a new 16-inch waterline and all its appurtenances to an existing 16-inch waterline downstream of the Pearson Road Pump Station and extending it approximately 3,000 linear feet along Harrell Drive to an existing 12-inch waterline in Johnson Road. These improvements will alleviate pressure issues associated with the current configuration and allow a more efficient transfer of water and water pressure. Nine (9) bids were received on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. The bids have been reviewed by Dunaway Associates, LP and City staff. The Dunaway Opinion of Probable Construction Cost was $571,313.00. This award amount is within budget. All work associated with this project must be complete, by contract, in less than 150 working days once notice to proceed has been given. Financial Considerations: Funding for this contract has been allocated through the Capital Improvement Program within the FY 2014 budget and FY 2018 Water Impact Fee Fund. Strategic Link: This item relates to the City’s strategy map focus areas of Infrastructure. The specific corporate objective that is met by this project is to (F2) Invest to provide and maintain quality public assets.
