2. Agenda Item No. 2. Public Forum: – This is the public's opportunity to address
the Commission about non-agenda items. During Public Forum, the Commission
will not discuss, consider, or take action on any item presented. The
Commissions' options during this topic are 1) to listen, 2) ask questions and
respond to the presenter only, 3) request staff to look into the issue and report
back to the Commission and/or 4) request that the Chair put the item on a future
agenda for the Commission to discuss or consider.

3. Agenda Item No. 3. Reports:
A. Metroport Meals On Wheels – A copy of the February MMOW report, as
well as a cumulative report, is included in your packet.
B. Call A Ride Southlake – A copy of the February report is included in your

C. City Manager’s Office – Assistant to the City Manager Lauren LaNeave
will present an update to the Commission. No packet documents.
D. Community Services Department – Hospitality & Sales Manager Tiffany
Irwin will present the February Senior Center Report. A copy of the report
is included in the packet.
E. Senior Services – Senior Services Coordinator Soheila Mashat-Phelps will
update the Commission on current and future senior programming and
events. No packet documents.

A. Presenters for Future SAC Meetings and Senior Luncheons - The
Commission will have an opportunity to discuss inviting guest speakers
from the community and City government to speak at the monthly Senior
Advisory Commission meetings and/or Senior luncheons.

1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Beverly Blake called the meeting of the Senior Advisory Commission to
order at 1:00 p.m.
2. PUBLIC FORUM – Chair Beverly Blake opened Public Forum at 1:00 p.m. There
being no one to address the Commission, Public Forum was closed.
3. REPORTS
3A. METROPORT MEALS ON WHEELS
MMOW Executive Director Mary King presented the MMOW report and responded to
questions. A copy of the January 2018 MMOW report and the 2018 cumulative report
were included in the meeting packet. A cumulative report for October 2017-January
2018 was distributed and summarized for the Commission.
3B. CALL A RIDE SOUTHLAKE
A copy of the January 2018 CARS report was included in the meeting packet.

Deputy Director Candice Edmondson informed the Commission about the Crud
Cruiser event to be held on April 21, 2018 at Dragon Stadium.
3D. COMMUNITY SERVICES
Deputy Director Candice Edmondson presented the January Senior Activity Center
Membership Report and responded to questions. A copy of the report was included
in the packet.
3E. SENIOR SERVICES
Senior Services Coordinator Soheila Mashat-Phelps reported about senior center
activities, events and staffing and responded to questions.
The next edition of the senior newsletter will be available March 19. Programming is
expanding to include new classes and trips, with a signature event being planned in
May. A temporary document shredding bin will be available in the Senior Lounge
beginning March 29. Medication disposal will also be available at the Center this
spring.
4. CONSENT AGENDA Consent Agenda items are considered to be routine by the
Commission and are enacted with one motion.

SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING.
There were no corrections or changes presented for the February 13, 2018 meeting
