construction of accessory buildings or structures of a size or aggregate size greater than that
permitted on property described as Lot 5, John Childress No. 254 Addition, an addition to the
City of Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas and located at 1501 Burney Ln., Southlake, Texas.
Current Zoning: "SF -1A" — Single Family Residential District. This item is being administratively
tabled to the April 12, 2018 meeting in order to send out corrected public hearing notification
letters and a corrected public notice with the correct street address.
6. Consider: ZBA-750, Special Exception Use per Ordinance No. 480, Section 44.12(1) for a
domestic employee or family quarters on property described as Lot 4, Block 1, Harrell Place, an
addition to the City of Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas and located at 220 Harrell Dr.,
Southlake, Texas. Current Zoning: "SF -1A" — Single Family Residential District. PUBLIC

Agenda Item No. 6 — ZBA-750, Special Exception Use per Ordinance No. 480, Section
44.12(1) for a domestic employee or family quarters on property described as Lot 4, Block 1,
Harrell Place, an addition to the City of Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas and located at 220
Harrell Dr., Southlake, Texas. Current Zoning: "SF-1K — Single Family Residential District.
Planner Richard Schell presented details of the case with a slide show presentation to the
Board. The applicant is requesting approval of a Special Exception Use per Ordinance No. 480,
Section 44.12(1) to allow the construction of an approximately 1,571 square foot domestic
employee or family quarters in an addition to the principal residence.
Chair Medici opened the public hearing and called upon the applicant or the applicant's
representative to make such comments and present evidence as the applicant should desire.
Jeff McClasky, a representative of the owner, once sworn in, presented testimony and
answered questions from the board.
Chair Medici asked if there were those in the audience who wished to speak in favor of the
request.
There being none, Chair Medici asked if there were those in the audience who wished to speak
in opposition of the request.
There being none, Chair Medici closed the public hearing and opened the item for discussion
from the Board.
Chair Medici called the applicant and property owner, Craig Poole, 220 Harrell Dr. to come
forward, and once sworn in, Mr. Poole presented testimony and answered questions from the
board.
