The Market Opportunity Escape rooms are a relatively new industry which can be traced to Japan in 2007. Since then the industry has grown to more than 2800 fixed escape rooms across the world. The escape room business model is an intersection between gaming and the themed entertainment industry. The industry was first introduced in the U.S. in 2012 and has experienced a rapid growth in the last 5 years. Regular customers include a wide range of people, both young and old, including friends, families, corporate employees and even couples and partners looking for something beyond the mundane dinner and movie night out. Services Locked in Texas will focus on several different themes of escape rooms to attract people of all ages. Each themed room will have a maximum capacity of 8 people and the team will solve puzzles, discover clues and accomplish tasks with the main purpose of escaping the room within the one-hour time limit. The game will begin with guidelines from the game master and will conclude with a discussion of the team performance at the end of the session. Clues will be presented on a small TV screen located inside the room and riddles and puzzles will be found throughout the room. All rooms will have surveillance cameras monitored by the game master to ensure the safety of the participants and the contents of the rooms. Each clue will lead to another until the final clue is found and the team has escaped. Teams can request for a hint during the hour but this will come at a time penalty for each hint requested. The goal is to not only escape the room but also have the best time. Participants can request to leave the room at any time during the one-hour adventure but at that time, the game will be terminated and the participants will be escorted to the final debriefing room. ZA17-101 A single escape room will be occupied for one hour with a 15 -minute block between rooms to set up for the next team. Locked in Texas plans on developing 6-8 separate escape rooms and laser maze at the cost of $30 per person. The escape rooms will be open to the general public over the weekend from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening as well as weeknights. In addition to the general escape rooms, we will spend a majority of our business working with corporations during the work week and on select weekends. The focus on the corporate events is to generate team building in a fun and casual atmosphere. Plans to bring in motivational speakers for team building and catering will be offered in corporate packages. There is truly no other experience that can compare. We will also be working closely with several social psychologists to help corporations understand human behavior, motivation and the science of team building. 2
