FORUM SUMMARY: Property Situation: Citywide Details: The City of Southlake is adopting the State of Texas adopted 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC). Ordinance No. 1142A will be presented to City Council at their March 6, 2018 meeting for the 1st reading and on March 20, 2018 for the 2nd reading as an amendment to the current ordinance, Ordinance No. 1142 (adopted in 2017 with the 2014 NEC. Texas State Law has approved the 2017 NEC effective September 1, 2017. Upon approval by the City Council, the ordinance will establish minimum requirements for electricians and designer for buildings and electrical services.
